CHAIR OF THE NKIKIA BOARD ŽIVILĖ DIAWARA AT THE MEETING OF CULTURAL REPRESENTATIVES WITH THE PRESIDENT GITANAS NAUSĖDA
The President of the Republic of Lithuania, Gitanas Nausėda met with the Lithuanian CCI and cultural representatives, including both – governmental and NGOs. On 7 of January 2022, a meeting was held at the Vytautas Kasiulis Art Museum to discuss the issues of cultural policy – funding, cultural accessibility, regional exclusion, legislation, competitiveness, opportunities, policy coherence between culture and education, added value of culture, including economic and social, and other topics. Živilė Diawara, Chair of the NKIKIA Board, welcomed the initiative to discuss the issues which concern cultural experts in a long-term perspective. She approved the aim to develop the sector monitoring, indicating the added value it generates. Živilė Diawara highlighted the importance of the policy coherence between culture and education and its practical implementation with the help of cultural professionals and NGOs, discussed the change in teachers’ attitudes towards creativity, involvement of professional creators expanding and promoting culture and creativity in the regions.
Acting as umbrella organization, facilitator and platform of Lithuanian CCI, NKIKIA seeks to contribute to the development of cultural policy, the ongoing dialogue and cooperation between cultural experts and policy makers.
