DISCUSSION WITH the CANDIDATES FOR VILNIUS CITY MAYOR “CULTURE maintains THE CITY. DOES THE CITY maintain CULTURE?”

On February 21, 2023 the Lithuanian National Association of Creative and Cultural Industries in cooperation with its partners organizes a discussion with the candidates for Vilnius city mayor “Culture maintains the city. Does the city maintain culture?” The purpose of the event is to hear the candidates’ opinions, visions of their political programmes regarding maintenance of Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI) in the life of Vilnius city, to discuss the significance and role of the CCI in city government, in order to create favorable conditions for the development of the CCI sector in creating the social and economic well-being of the city, implementing creative ideas, neighborhood revitalization initiatives, funding, development of cultural organizations, non-governmental sector cooperation with city government, and many other issues of concern.

The discussion is moderated by dr. Živile Glaveckaitė. The discussion will take place at the Conference Hall of the Lithuanian National Martynas Mažvydas Library.

15:15–16:40 Discussion with the candidates for Vilnius city mayor: Valdas Benkunskas, Rasa Budbergytė, Mykolas Majauskas, Ieva Kačinskaitė-Urbonienė, Eglė Radvilė, Tomas Vytautas Raskevičius, Lukas Savickas, Artūras Zuokas.

The event is organized by the Lithuanian National Association of Creative and Cultural Industries in partnership with the Research Institute for Changes, AGATA, Baltic Film & Creative Tech Cluster, Lithuanian Design Association, Lithuanian Publishers Association, Lithuanian Union of Interdisciplinary Art Creators

The event will be filmed and photographed. The recording of the event and the photo gallery will be available through the communication channels of the event organizer and partners – social networks, websites and others.
